Our ServicesWire EDM
Here at JTD we deliver tight-tolerance components, critical to building and maintaining high-performance progressive, compound, and transfer dies.
Our shop is equipped with a robust lineup of four Mitsubishi wire EDM machines industry renowned for reliability, precision, and repeatability. These systems enable us to cut intricate profiles in hardened tool steels.
Why Wire EDM?
Wire EDM is a non-contact, thermal erosion process that uses a continuously spooling brass or coated wire as an electrode to precisely erode material via controlled electrical sparks. Unlike traditional machining, there is no cutting force, eliminating distortion, burrs, or mechanical stress. Making it ideal for hardened materials. Thin-walled or delicate features including complex internal geometries (splines, keyways, sharp corners, tapers) and micro-features and small hole starting.
We routinely manufacture punch and die inserts, stripper plates and retainers, guide pins, bushings, and precision locating features, specializing in prototype and short-run die components. From simple round holes to highly complex contours, our team programs and executes precise cutting paths with sub-degree taper control and automatic wire threading to ensure consistent, uninterrupted production, helping you deliver first-class die components from prototype through short-run builds.
Jonesboro Tool and Die combine decades of real-world die-making experience to optimize cycle times and ensure first-part accuracy. We support rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, and production runs.
